I’m a bit confused… does this make you glad you left the US because:
a) even in friendly territory, parties that fuck up get punished
b) we elect douchebags
c) the healthcare bill is boned
I really should learn something about Canadian politics so I can counter-condescend you, but I’m too lazy-American to do so.
I think it would be more like this:
a) canada has liberally progressive political parties who don’t always get slapped around
b) you elect douchebags. though we do too.
c) passing crappy healthcare reform was harder than passing a softball-sized kidney stone. it’s only going to get worse from here.

Canada definitely elects douchebags, but they really aren’t in the same league as American political douchebags. Our system seems less broken. It seems like every politician in both parties is on the take in the US. And all they do is spend their time fund raising.
