So if you haven’t heard, John McCain named his running mate and it’s Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. Let’s think about this for a moment. I had never heard of Gov. Palin until the other day. It turns out she was the Mayor of a town whose population is 5000 (you probably have a larger budget as student president of a University), then she became the Governor of the least populous state in the Union, and she believes in creationism. To put this in scope, if McCain won and died in office, a woman with no international experience and believes the earth is a couple thousand years old would be in charge of the most powerful military in the history of the world. On that note, if you’re American and will be voting for Obama, please make sure you’re registered to vote.
This video is enjoyable. You know you’re in a rough spot when CNN is making fun of your ass.
Beyond being a questionable political move, is anyone else plainly offended by the Rep’s choice of Palin? How much of Palin’s appointment is based on her experience, and how much on her gender? That she directly compared herself to Hilary Clinton in her first public address seems to let the cat out of the bag. It raises a further question - if McCain wanted a woman on his ticket, are there so few Republican women with political experience that Palin is the best choice? Woozers!
John McCain is bugging the fuck out.
British journalism at its best:
Sarah Palin Joke of the week:
Fox News: “She does know
about international relations because she is up there
in Alaska right next door to Russia.”
Jon Stewart: “Alaska is also next to the North Pole so,
obviously, she must also be friends with Santa.”
