yes, after 5 years of waiting, i finally bought an apple. a black macbook to be exact. it will be replacing my beloved thinkpad t21 which, after 6 years, is really starting to show it’s age. none the less, i’ll still be a strong advocate for the mouse nub. more details on the mac to come…
Do you feel sexier, and more satisfied with your life?
not as sexy as you my friend.
at least now I could work at a coffee shop in seattle and not be shamed. honestly, if an alien race (let’s say republicans) showed up in capitol hill they would think that apple is the dominant manufacturer of computers.
I know I would!
What a coincidence! I just bought a MacBook, too, and it just arrived last friday! It’s so sexy, I can’t believe I got dates without it :)
I’m impressed at how simple it is to use, and how clean and smooth OSX is. I LOVE being able to open a bash prompt whenever I want one. It combines the best of windows and the best of linux.
I also ordered and iPod nano with my MacBook, which is surprising useful aswell. I’ve gotten into listening to podcasts during my commute to/from work everyday.
but what about the right mouse button (or lackthereof)
true. at least there’s the two-finger right click option on the new macbooks. either way, it’s still no nub.
hey hey hey – my macbook came two weeks ago.
sexy yes, but not perfect.
i cheaped out and bought a wired mouse. USB port is on the left side of the computer, thus cord gets in the way for all right handed folks.
I miss the key for getting to the end of lines and pages. Also, it is taking some time to get used to using the Apple key, as opposed to the CTRL key for shortcuts. These are minor, though, and I’m sure I will adapt soon enough.
Can someone explain to me why there are two power cords?
Two power cords? On my iBook, there is an attachment to the brick so you could extend it further, or use it the brick in a spot where only a normal plug would fit.
the ibook i use here at work has a wheel and a right-clickin’ mouse. i agree with woolslain with the left-hand USB port. that doesn’t make any sense. sorry lefties.
a guy I work with is suffering from random shutdowns on his.
not raining on your parade, I still want one.
