Sorry to all about the less frequent updates in the last week. After a quick triage last night my bloglines is still well over 200 posts. Anyways, as one could imagine, I spent about 5 hours yesterday copying music on to my shiny new ipod. The majority of the time was spent waiting on file transfers from cds. To my suprise, I only got to about 12 gigs of music yesterday. I still have lots more to go through but I think I’ll easily come in under 20 gigs. Is it possible I only really needed a 30 gig ipod? I haven’t put my photos or any videos on the ipod yet. Still some thing I want to do:
- copy over all my photos
- hook up a couple podcasts (like cbcRadio3 and kexp’s song of the day)
- find some tool to photocast flickr galleries (like ram’s)
- buy a $25 piece of plastic. god bless america!
I only recommend the ‘invisible shield’ if you don’t want to add any size/weight to the ipod. It won’t protect it from drops like a regular case. I rationalized the $20 for my nano to keep it (somewhat) protected without adding any bulk.
After you get it all copied off CD and onto your iPod, I recommend keeping a backup on a computer somewhere. Be careful when attaching your iPod to a new computer — it helpfully asks if you want to sync the iPod to the empty iTunes library, then proceeds to do just that.
Am I being phished? Has awardtour been compromised by Chinese hackers? (Perhaps the “cyber war” [God bless 2001] has resumed after President Hu passed word back to China that Dubya really is as dumb as he looks.) You mean, you’re spending money? Real money? Cam’s going to have to up his budget to ensure that the global economy remains a’ spinning. You’re going to buy the Mariners, now, aren’t you? Riii—diculous.
see what happens when you go into “corporate hibernation”? it’s like HG Well’s time machine, next time you re-emerge you’ll find out that humanity lives underground.
Just keep it in that sleave thing, and make your peace with the fact it will get scuffed. That’s the only way to roll.
